God's Voice Loud and Clear

By Susan Ledbetter

Walking into the airport for my flight a few days ago I found myself reciting the first sentence in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, “To those leaning on the sustaining Infinite, to-day is big with blessings.” I affirmed that truth for all of God’s children at every moment and promised myself I would be listening for Thy voice.

At the security checkpoint I was asked to place my driver’s license into the card reader. This was new to me. I was instructed to remove my mask for identification and then to say my name out loud. When I inquired about showing my boarding pass, the agent replied that was no longer necessary at the checkpoint, only for boarding the flight, and to proceed to the conveyer belt area. I placed my tote and carry-on on the conveyer belt, walked through the security archway and as I was collecting my things, I distinctly heard, “You don’t have your driver’s license.” I looked; I didn’t have it.

Turning to the security agent I told her I must have left my driver’s license in the card reader and she asked another agent to retrieve it. Within a minute I had it back in my possession and walked to my gate smiling and so humbly grateful. I had heard God’s voice loud and clear!
